Frequently Asked Questions

❓ Are you a Utah Fits All vendor?

Yes! As long as you select the “Private School” option when applying for the scholarship, you can use Utah Fits All funds toward Little Light Log Cabin.

❓ Who teaches the Homeschool and Summer sessions?

Various qualified instructors lead our classes. Please visit the Programs page to view current offerings and learning coaches.

❓ Can you tell me about your curriculum?

Our core approach is rooted in the Charlotte Mason philosophy. We primarily use the Alveary curriculum as a base, supported by elements from Mindful Heart and other carefully curated resources that emphasize hands-on, nature-based, and whole-child learning.

❓ What subjects do you cover?

We provide a broad and enriching academic experience, including:

  • Math, Language Arts, Handwriting & Literature
  • Science, History, Geography
  • Art, Music, Dramatic Play, Handicrafts
  • Nature Study, Agriculture, and Food Education
  • Citizenship, Speech, Current Events
  • Foreign Language (Spanish/French)
  • Entrepreneurship & Life Skills

❓ Why are all the children in class together and not split by age groups?

Mixed-age learning fosters collaboration, leadership, and peer modeling. Younger children learn by observing older peers, and older students solidify their understanding by mentoring and leading. This dynamic creates a rich, natural learning environment.

❓ My child has food allergies. Can you accommodate us?

Yes! Please notify us of any life-threatening allergies. We take these accommodations seriously and will work with you to ensure safety.

❓ Do I have to commit to the full year?

Yes. While tuition may be paid monthly, enrollment is a 10-month academic commitment. This ensures consistency and community for all enrolled families.

❓ Can I stay with my child during class?

Absolutely. Parents are always welcome to stay and observe, especially during the transition period or for students who benefit from a little extra support.

❓ Do you teach religion, politics, or the origins of life?

We are a Christian organization that emphasizes strong values and good character. Some classes may include prayer, biblical verses, and moral stories. We avoid divisive or politically charged topics and approach current events and personal beliefs with kindness, respect, and age-appropriateness.

❓ Am I required to help teach?

No. While parent involvement is welcomed and appreciated, it is not required for teaching. There are many ways to support the community!

❓ Where are you located?

We are located in Eagle Mountain, Utah. Full address and traffic flow information will be provided upon enrollment.

❓ What are the school hours?

Hours vary by program and age group. Please refer to your specific class listing or contact us for details.

❓ Do I need to pack lunch?

Yes. Please send your child with a labeled water bottle and a nut-aware lunch/snack each day.

❓ What should my child wear?

Students should wear modest, comfortable clothing suitable for movement and outdoor learning. Layering is encouraged for Utah’s changing weather.

❓ Can my child bring electronics?

All personal devices should remain in backpacks and are only to be used with permission for learning purposes.

❓ How can I volunteer?

We love parent involvement! Opportunities include:

  • Leading or supporting after-school clubs
  • Helping in the classroom or during events
  • Assisting with fundraisers or outdoor projects
Watch for signup forms or contact us directly.

❓ Do you follow a regular school calendar?

Yes! We follow a 10-month calendar and take holidays off. A detailed calendar is shared with families after enrollment.

❓ How early can my child be dropped off?

Students may be dropped off up to 15 minutes before class begins. Please ensure they are dressed for the weather, as early arrivals may enjoy outdoor free play or quiet morning activities with staff supervision.
