Goat project! Tatooing and soap making.

We love our 4H goat project at River Edge Farm in Isleton, Ca. Our gracious host Tracy, is a resident and owner of the farm. She has kindly opened up her home to us each month, to share her love and knowledge with us about goats. At the goat project we learn anything and everything relating to goats, and my kids love it!

This week we learned how to tattoo a goats identification on their ear for state fair, and also how to make soap made from goat milk.

Sheep!!

It was like Christmas morning here at the ranch! Five sheep finally made it home, and the children were giddy! They all look like stuffed animals, they are SO cute! They seem to be enjoying their time out of their pen, grazing on the pasture. Time to scrub off the red marker, and dirt!

“Oh my gosh, it’s a squash”

“Oh my gosh, it’s a squash, broccoli, tomatoes and many other seedlings!

We spent the day prepping our garden beds, and planting a variety of vegetables, as well as flowers to detour garden pests.

It was a beautiful day, and we had lots of fun. Although, I have to say, the sun felt like it was about 110, but I think it was only 75 degrees! Summer here we come.
