Shepard the Great!

Shepard our Great Pyrenees is the newest addition to the family! He is only eight weeks old, and is the sweetest, most gentle, soon to be “giant” dog.

Shepard’s ranch job will be to protect our goats and sheep in the pasture when he turns 16 weeks old. So, if you want to snuggle with this little guy, you better make is soon, because Great Pyrenees can weigh up to 120lbs!

Not to worry though, these dogs are also know as the gentle giants, and are wonderful around children.

The Great Pyrenees dog breed‘s goal in life is to protect sheep, goats, livestock, people, children, grass, flowers, the moon, the lawn furniture, bird feeders. Oh yeah, and to give, give, and give unconditional love.”

Ever seen a Mole before?

Have you ever seen a mole before? This was a first time for us, and I have to say, we were all excited. Although we probably would have been more excited to see him alive.

We are pretty sure this little mole did not die of natural causes, we found him on our driveway. We have two suspect cats who hunt all day long, anything that looks yummy to them. Mice, lizards, voles, birds, ground squirrels, and now moles!

If you can’t tell by the picture, the fur on this little mole, was the softest fur I think I have ever felt, it felt like velvet! Moles are the strangest looking critters, I guess this just means, one less critter who will be feasting on our garden.
